    • Senator Hill talked about while the President was touting his 800,000 manufacturing jobs, he hasn't addressed the high gas prices that still plague New Jersey and the rest of the nation. He mentioned the bill he recently introduced, dubbed the "Affordable Fuel for America Act".
    • Senator Hill also brought up inflation and the lack of response the current administration has done to help fix the inflation rate.
    • Lastly, He brought up the increasing rent prices that are hurting the lower and middle class and how the current administration is ignoring that to tout the job creation, which doesn't do much for the economy in Senator Hill's eyes

Chuck Todd: Good morning, and welcome to Meet the Press. Today, we're joined by Senator Jackson Hill of New Jersey, who recently introduced the Affordable Fuel for America Act, a bill aimed at reducing the cost of gasoline for American consumers and promoting the use of alternative fuels. Senator Hill, thank you for being with us today.

Senator Hill: Thank you for having me, Chuck

    .

Chuck Todd: Senator Hill, can you tell us more about your Affordable Fuel for America Act and why you believe it's necessary?

Senator Hill: Absolutely, Chuck. The high cost of gasoline is a burden on American families and businesses, and it's time we take action to address it. That's why I introduced the Affordable Fuel for America Act. This bill provides financial incentives to gasoline retailers who sell gas at a lower price, increases funding for research and development of alternative fuels, and encourages states and localities to invest in public transportation and other alternatives to gasoline-powered transportation. It also includes stricter fuel efficiency standards for vehicles and measures to prevent price-gouging by gasoline retailers.

Chuck Todd: How do you plan to fund these initiatives?

Senator Hill: The financial incentives for gasoline retailers will be funded through a surcharge on the sale of gasoline above the market price. The increase in funding for research and development of alternative fuels and the grant program for alternatives to gasoline-powered transportation will be funded through existing federal programs.

Chuck Todd: Opponents of the bill argue that it will lead to higher gasoline prices and burden small businesses. What do you say to these concerns?

Senator Hill: I understand these concerns, Chuck, but I believe they are misguided. The financial incentives for gasoline retailers will only be provided to those who agree to sell gasoline at a price below the average market price. In other words, it will actually lead to lower gasoline prices for consumers. And while the surcharge on gasoline above the market price may affect some small businesses, I believe the overall benefits of the bill, including lower gasoline prices and the promotion of alternative fuels, will more than offset any potential burden on small businesses.

Chuck Todd: You mentioned the high cost of gasoline being a burden on American families and businesses. How do you think the current administration's economic policies have impacted the cost of gasoline?

Senator Hill: Frankly, I think the current administration's economic policies have only made the problem worse. The administration's focus on deregulation and corporate tax cuts has benefited big oil companies at the expense of American consumers. Instead of taking action to lower gas prices, the administration has only made matters worse by rolling back fuel efficiency standards and ignoring the role of speculation in driving up gas prices.

Chuck Todd: Do you have any plans to work with Republicans on this bill?

Senator Hill: Absolutely, Chuck. I believe this is a common-sense, bipartisan issue, and I hope to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to pass this important legislation. However, I will not hesitate to hold the administration accountable for its failure to address the high cost of gasoline and its focus on benefiting big oil companies at the expense of American consumers.

Chuck Todd: Senator Hill, thank you for joining us today.

Senator Hill: Thank you for having me, Chuck.

    FOR IMMEDITATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C. - On Tuesday, Senator Jackson Hill of New Jersey gave a moving speech on the Senate floor in which he addressed the tragic 11/11 terrorist attacks and the President's failure to prevent them.

Speaking with emotion and conviction, Senator Hill condemned the President's inaction and his disregard for the lives of the American people.

"The President had access to intelligence reports that provided detailed information about an ISIL base in the Philippines," Senator Hill said. "Despite this, he took no action to address this threat, and the attacks were allowed to occur. This is a gross negligence of his duty to protect the American people, and it is unacceptable."

Senator Hill called on the House of Representatives to reconsider their decision and to take action to hold the President accountable for his failures.

"We must send a message to the American people that we will not tolerate this kind of gross negligence and disregard for human life," Senator Hill said. "It is our duty to hold our leaders accountable, and I hope that we can come together and do what is right for the country."

Senator Hill's speech can be viewed in its entirety below:

    Quote

    Madam President,

I rise today with a heavy heart, but with a sense of determination and purpose. As a member of this body, I have always believed in the importance of upholding the rule of law and in holding our leaders accountable for their actions. That is why I am deeply disappointed and concerned by the failure of the House of Representatives to impeach President Bailey for his gross negligence in the handling of the 11/11 terrorist attacks.

As we all know, on 11/11, terrorists successfully attacked four NFL games, killing 716 people and wounding countless others. This was a devastating tragedy, and it is clear that the President failed in his duty to protect the American people.

Furthermore, it has come to light that the President had access to intelligence reports which provided detailed information about an ISIL base in the Philippines. Despite this, the President took no action to address this threat, and the attacks were allowed to occur.

This is unacceptable, Madam President. The President has a sacred responsibility to protect the American people, and he failed in that responsibility. His inaction and disregard for the lives of the American people is a clear violation of the trust that has been placed in him.

I call on my colleagues in the House of Representatives to reconsider their decision and to take action to hold the President accountable for his failures. We must send a message to the American people that we will not tolerate this kind of gross negligence and disregard for human life.

Madam President, I urge my colleagues to join me in standing up for the rule of law and for the American people. It is our duty to hold our leaders accountable, and I hope that we can come together and do what is right for the country.

Thank you, and I yield my time.

Ok I fixed it, I took (sigh) New Jersey's class one
