-I support passing a 21st Century Civil Rights Act: ending racial profiling by law enforcement, banning the unconstitutional “stop-and-frisk”, and protecting the voting rights of minorities. I believe this new century can be the beginning of a new era of equality and justice for all people.

-I will push to finally enact the long overdue Equal Rights Amendment to ensure all women receive the fair wages they deserve for their hard work and efforts. And I support a woman's right to make decisions about her own body as abortion is a personal and tragic decision for each woman to make. 

-I pledge to enact hate federal crimes legislation to protect citizens like Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. from violence and hateful discrimination. No human being should face violence or hate because of their sexuality, race, or gender in the United States of America.

Protecting Family Values

- My administration will continue the Clinton Administration's efforts to protect young children from harmful and violent programming with V-Chips. We must ensure that all our children are safe from images that do not keep their best interests at heart. 

- I support expanding aid for school meals to assist families in providing nutrition and teaching healthy lifestyles to our children. My administration will also partner with the state education boards to improve physical education courses to help America's youth learn active lifestyles. 

-My administration will work to crack down on advertising for tobacco products to protect children from the harmful effects of smoking.
