Press Release: Senator Atkins Blasts Liberal Media Bias and False Allegations

maxresdefault.jpg

Washington, D.C. - Senator Kimberly Atkins (D-AZ) descries false allegations being perpetuated by the mass media, including the increasing and unabashed left-wing bias permeating the mainstream press.

Read her full statement below:

"We have seen entire news cycles dedicated to salacious stories about backroom deals and gamesmanship, but nothing rooted in facts. The media used to have a standard against printing and spouting hearsay to the American people. Unfortunately those standards have been thrown out of the window. The stridently liberal media has taken the words of a union boss who is part of a corrupt legacy and an ousted leader with bones to pick, and is selling newspapers and advertisements based on these stories, trying to tarnish and intimidate a fellow conservative colleague. What we're seeing is a growing lack of care for America's time and trust, among many members of the press. We're seeing a crisis of fake news be spread through mainstream media, being fed to the American people with an aggressive liberal slant. This is not going to end anytime soon as members of the press hawk leftist talking points and defend a president who has no guts, no vision, and no care to even address the American people."

Press Release: Senator Atkins Criticizes Democrat Agenda To Promote Abortion

Jan-Brewer-007.jpg?width=465&dpr=1&s=non

Washington, D.C. - Senator Kimberly Atkins (D-AZ) criticized the Democrat's agenda on abortion. Despite Roe vs. Wade being the law of the land, Democrats have pushed a much more extreme proposal on America's women. The "Women's Health Protection Act" from radical feminist Heather James of Washington mandated that doctors encourage women to seek an abortion, a significant step beyond freedom of choice.

Read the Senator's full statement below:

"The radical Democrats were caught with their pants down on this one. The Majority Leader can pull this bill from the floor but we all saw exactly what the liberal extremist plan was. It was to actually promote abortion, not protect the rights of women. Abort your children is what the Left is telling America's women. They want to mandate your doctors to encourage you to get an abortion. They want to inundate you with pro-abortion paraphernalia.  This is not even an issue that is relevant at this time, with Roe vs. Wade enshrined into federal law thanks to the High Court, yet the Democrats wanted to sneak this bill in and use the government as an instrument to promote women receiving abortions. Before the bill was pulled by the Majority Leader, it was clear some Democratic Senators were even opposed to the radical proposal, including Indiana Democrat John Carlsen voting to table the bill."

Washington, D.C. - Senator Kimberly Atkins (R-AZ) and Senator Gary Scott Freeman (R-SC) sponsored the Veterans Debt Fairness Act to reduce burdens on those who have served our country honorably. The legislation is poised to pass the U.S. Senate with unanimous support.

Read the full statement below:

"The passage of this legislation will mark a renewed interest in veteran's issues. It's a great honor to partner with Senator Freeman on this vital bill, to help our veterans and reduce the costly burdens that are on them from the VA trying to recoup suspected overpayments. I'm glad that this common-sense legislation has rousing bipartisan support all the way 'round."
