Senator Fealty elected President pro tempore of the Senate

WASHINGTON DC - Senator Jim Fealty has been elected as the President pro tempore of the Senate, following the last Senator from Mississippi to do so, John C. Stennis.

"I am truly honored and humbled to have been chosen as President pro tempore of the Senate. I am committed to working tirelessly to advance the interests of the American people and to uphold the values that make our nation great. As President pro tempore, I hope to play a pivotal role in shaping legislative priorities, facilitating bipartisan cooperation and ensuring the smooth operation of the Senate.

The people of Mississippi can take pride in my new role, knowing that I will continue to champion their interests on the national stage. My first priority will be to get the Access to Credit for our Rural Economy Act to the President's desk."
