Cynthia currently serves as the United States National Security Advisor to President Xiomara de la Cruz. Born in Green Bay Wisconsin, Cynthia had an average upbringing with her parents older brother and younger sister. Her parents died in a car accident during her second tour in Iraq in 2005, while her brother runs a car repair shop in Green Bay, while her sister married a local businessman. She applied and was accepted into the West Point, graduating in 2000 5th in her class with an Intelligence background. Following 9/11 she did a full tour in Afghanistan, before volunteering for a tour in Iraq. During her first tour in Iraq she was awarded the Bronze Star for anticipating an ambush point and later leading troops to rescue the ambushed unit when the situation became a reality. She received an honorable discharge from the Army in 2008 following eight years of service. In 2006, while she was home on live she met the future Senator for Wisconsin at a fundraiser for Herb Kohl. They struck up an immediate friendship over their joint military service, and Murphy was fascinated by Cynthia's at the time foresight into national defence and foreign policies. The friendship would continue for years, with the Murphys becoming close friends of the Harveys, with Cynthia seeing Doug and his family anytime she was in town. Following her departure from the Army, she was employed almost immediately by the National Security Agency as a Security Analyst, where she utilized her background in Intelligence work to gain a deep understanding of counter-intelligence and seeing trends in terrorism and international flashpoints. In 2013, she was recruited, by name, by the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies as a Research Fellow, where she earned a reputation for her out of the box thinking of international issues and security, having a reputation for predicting international issues prior to their emergence. In 2015, Senator Murphy sought out Cynthia while she was in Stanford California at the Spogli Institute and tapped her as his senior foreign policy expert for his Presidential exploratory committee and later campaign. She would later helped craft the Murphy foreign policy planks and heavily advised Senator Murphy on national security issues. She retained her position as the Senior Foreign Policy Advisor after the Murphy campaign merged with the de la Cruz Campaign during the General Election. Following the election of de la Cruz and Murphy to the Presidency and Vice Presidency she was tapped as the incoming National Security Advisor.
