Senator Madeline White (D-MI) attends the 2025 Women's march, delivering the following short remarks:
At this second post-inaugural Women's March, we gather to send the strongest message that women's rights must be a top priority for any Administration. In 2017, we came out and marched as a reaction to the unpopular, policies of the Trump Administration. Since 2017, women organised and voted on a scale unrecognizable just a few years prior. We fought for our healthcare, our right to choose, investments in programs to help women succeed.
Today we march for the women of America and of the world. We are on the path to full and unequivocal equality, no ifs, no buts, no asterisks. President Ross must recognise her unique position of strength to advance this cause. Women in leadership, in all sectors must be promoted in numbers.
President Ross wants to do business? We will do business with women at the table! Nobody gets a pass for simply being a women, the President is no exception. The most powerful person on the planet is the President of the United States. If that person is a woman, there is no excuse for not making consequential steps in eliminating the underrepresentation of women in key positions of power. This is the responsibility of this Administration.
