  1. Sen. David Rollins Suspends Campaign ((assume this is the day after Super Tuesday when McCord clinched the nomination)) Lincoln, Nebraska Thank you all very much for joining me today. It was right here, nearly 12 months ago, that we launched our campaign for President. It has been a long journey that has now reached its conclusion. Despite earning the win of an equal number of U.S. states, and nearly the same number of votes - we fell short in delegates - and as a result, I today, am suspending my campaign for the republican nomination for President of the United States. I want to congratulate Senator McCord on winning the primary, and Senator Kuykendal for the number of states he won and enthusiasm of his supporters to stick with it. I also want to congratulate Mayor de La Cruz for securing her party's nomination, and Senator Murphy for a well-run and spirited campaign. This election was always going to be one of great significance - and so true will that be with our nation electing its first female President, regardless the victor. I want to sincerely thank my family for their steadfast support through the long nights, the hundreds of days away from our Nebraska home, through thick and thin, they are the reason I stive each and every day to make our nation a better place. I love you, thank you. To our incredible campaign staff, I would have rather lost with you, than have won with anybody else. Your tireless work made this campaign possible, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to the millions of Americans who supported our fight for America - thank you. I am forever humbled and honored by your support throughout this process, and in the way we got to know one another. This process, because of you, has reminded me why this place, these United States of America, is the greatest nation on Earth. While this campaign is now over, our fight for America continues. We will fight to rebuild our economy, keep America safe and restore the American dream for each and every family. While the next chapter has yet to be written, I have no doubt our best days are still to come. Thank you very much. May God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America. Thank you.
  2. David Rollins Victory Speech Des Moines, Iowa Wow, thank you! Thank you very much! I know there are some who think a twenty-minute stump speech is too long - so I'll keep this brief tonight (*laughs*). Tonight, tonight the voters of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada had their say in kicking off our party's nominating process. And tonight - we made history! Iowa and New Hampshire have kicked off the primary season since 1976, and never before has a non-incumbent swept both states - until now. Iowa and New Hampshire - thank you! Iowans and the great folks of New Hampshire, not to mention in the other early two states, welcomed my family and I into their homes, businesses, and yes even some bars (*laughs*). We've made new memories of playing catch in a corn field in Iowa's fall, and Rollins' family snowball fights in the fridged New Hampshire winter. We met a lot of wonderful people along the way, and made many new friends - including Senator's Chuck Grassley and Kelly Ayotte who helped propel us to victory tonight, and they are here with us this evening- thank you for your support. It wasn't long ago that we were behind in the polls in Iowa, yet we won. It wasn't long ago that millions worth in attack ads went into New Hampshire lying about our record, yet we won. This is the moment they didn't think was possible - yet here we are. And after seven years of a failed Barack Obama administration - that moment where we replace big government liberalism with small government, common sense conservatism will come too! As our nominee, I will fight for America. I will fight to rebuild our economy keep America safe and restore the American dream. We will be the party that moves America forward and reclaims our leadership in the world - with real leadership in the White House come January 2017. We will be the party that puts people above politics, and returns power back to the states and freedom to the individual - not leave it rested with big government. You know, tonight we celebrate - but tomorrow we go back to work. The dirty smear tactics and false attacks of our opponents will continue - but so will our resolve, commitment and strength to fight for America! I ask that you join our cause in fighting for America and to restore the American dream! Thank you so very much! May God bless you, and may God Bless our great country! Thank you.

She previously worked with Baker at the NRSC in the same role for the 2014 cycle and has fundraising experience on the national stage dating back to the George W. Bush 2000 Presidential campaign. Dorinda Moss, previously Finance Director at the NRSC in 2010 and '12, will advise the campaign as Senior Advisor, Finance. Having worked in Presidential politics dating back to the 2004 Bush-Cheney re-election campaign, she will advise the campaign on all fundraising and finance matters. After working as Deputy Finance Director for the NRSC under both Baker and Larrison, Robyn Knecht will join the Rollins campaign in the same capacity. Associate Finance Directors include Mary Heitman, Dougie Simmons and Maggie Rauck. Heitman will primarily assist Schroder in overall management, having worked in finance for both the Bachmann and Gingrich Presidential campaigns in 2012 after working as Finance Director at the RGA directly prior to Schroder. Simmons has long experience and relationships with republican "mega donors," which will be his primary focus. Rauck latched onto Rollins after working as a Finance Associate with the RGA beginning in 2007, and will work with the day-to-day and constituent fundraising management. The Communications and Media efforts of the campaign will be run by Alex Conant in the role of Communications Director. He comes with extensive experience on the hill, having worked for Rollins' Senate colleagues in both Senator's Marco Rubio and John Thune. Not lacking is national communications experience as well, with his resume including communications director for Tim Pawlenty's short-lived 2012 Presidential campaign, and working for the RNC communications department in 2008. Alex's wife, Caitlin Conant, will also work for the campaign as the Press Secretary. She is a communications veteran of Senator's Rob Portman and Richard Burr, while also having worked for Pawlenty in 2012. Jason Roe will play the important role of Senior Media Strategist, and will advise the campaign on a wide range of messaging and communications efforts. A communications strategist for more than three decades, Roe brings experience from Mitt Romney's 2008 campaign, Rick Perry's 2012 Presidential campaign, the Bush-Cheney administration, and before that, worked for Newt Gingrich while Speaker of the House. Lucas Todd Thompson and Nathan Klein will work as Co-Directors of Analytics while serving in other roles. Thompson will manage the campaign's online campaign, while Klein will be the campaign's pollster. Thompson worked for Baker at the NRSC in the digital department as Analytics Program Director, while Klein worked previously for Baker the same cycle as Polling and Analytics Director. Campaign operations will be run by Jessica Ennis, a North Carolina native, as Director of Operations. Her previous experience includes Deputy Director of Operations for Mitt Romney in 2012, a Regional Director and national Deputy Political Director for the RNC from 2007-12 after working as a Regional Finance Director beginning in 2005. She also managed the Bush-Cheney campaign in North Carolina in 2004. Chelsea Hawker will be in charge of the ever-important grassroots organization and work in the capacity of National Grassroots & Field Director, important in early primary states and the closing days of a general election. Hawker served as Baker's No. 2 in the political department of the NRSC in 2014. Carlos Castillo, a longtime Rollins aide and member of his inner circle, will be a top liaison between all facets of the campaign, and between it and Rollins' Senate office. His role is Director of Administration and Chief of Staff to the campaign. Castillo, a Nebraska native, was elected Election Commissioner for Douglas County, the largest county in Nebraska, home to Omaha, and served in the role from 2004-05. He was a top member of the Rollins' re-election campaign in 2006, and following his re-election, transitioned to working as Director of Administrative Services for Rollins' second term. He rejoined his team for the 2014 Senate campaign to run the campaign. The Rollins' campaign Policy Committee, and specific State Leadership teams, including for those in early primary states, are to be announced at a later date. 5. Senator David Rollins (R-Nebraska) Presidential Campaign Announcement Speech Lincoln, Nebraska Wow, what a crowd! Thank you! Thank you so very much for joining me this afternoon. It is so great to be back here in our great state of Nebraska. Truly one of a kind, and that is because of the people who live in our state. You. You make our state an amazing beacon of optimism for America - optimism that for so many all across America today, doesn't seem possible. I've seen it every time I travel across our state. And what I've come to realize, is Nebraska is a lot like our country as a whole. A microcosm of what is possible all across our great nation. From our farmers and ranchers, in small and big towns all across Nebraska that power one of the largest agricultural industries in America. From our producers of Ethanol, coal, wind, natural gas, and booming American energy production across the board, creating the second largest energy industry among any state in the United States. From our freight industry, including the world's largest railyard, and trucking companies that make it possible for American-made products to reach every household from coast-to-coast. From our manufacturing industry that thrives and keeps jobs here in Nebraska, companies headquartered here like Hornady, Valmont Industries, always a favorite Kawasaki Motors, or construction work because of businesses like Kiewit. Financial institutions like TD Ameritrade or even Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway. Companies like Cabela's are headquartered here. We are a microcosm of American ingenuity and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our nation forward. From Kool-Aid and to the vice grip, and even what college students love so much in those CliffNotes [laughs] - all created right here, in Nebraska. To supporting our military in such places like Offutt Air Force Base just south of Omaha and taking pride in our education system - we are a diverse state that looks just like America. And just like America, we've seen our struggles. Those vice grips that were invented in Nebraska - by a man named William Peterson in 1924 - used to be manufactured right here in Nebraska. Despite our best efforts to keep them with the backdrop of a great financial crisis, their manufacturing plant moved to China at the end of 2008. Through the best and worst of times in our country, you have stood with me in our collective effort to do our part, for Nebraska, to keep our state that beacon of success and optimism I know our country so desperately needs today, now more than ever. And we have succeeded in giving our state a platform on which it can grow and prosper in this, what can and must be, the greatest century in all of American history. That is why Jenny and I chose to be with all of you, here in Lincoln this afternoon. We are humbled that you've joined us on such an important occasion. From your encouragement and support in our efforts to lead our state into prosperity beginning with becoming your Governor in 2002, re-elected in 2006, and once again honored with your support in 2014 to send us to the United States Senate - you are the reason we succeed in making our state great, and helping to make the rest of the country a little more like Nebraska. You and our great state are truly a symbol of our nation's identity as a land of opportunity, and I am more confident than ever that despite our nation's deep troubles, we have it within our power to make our country a better place for every American. Over the last several months, we've traveled the country, meeting wonderful Americans just like all of you, eager for a new beginning. Eager to fight for our country, fight for the American dream, and to take our government back. We've been touched by the stories and values shared with us that have reminded us why we love this great country. A country where everyone who is willing to work for it, can aspire to do or be anything they want. A country where opportunity is endless when our nation is led by leaders who fight for the American dream, not for themselves. So here is what it comes down to. Our nation, no secret to anybody, is on an unsustainably bad course. Very simply, too many Americans are starting to doubt whether achieving the American dream is still possible. We live in an economy that has our President saying its growing, yet it is the slowest recovery from a recession ever, leaving more and more Americans behind. A government that has added more debt held by the public these last eight years than all previous Presidents combined. We've gone through the swift, mindless drawdown of a military that was generations in the making, leaving our nation less secure today than we were eight years ago. The question is - what are we going to do about it? The question for me is - what am I going to do about it? And I've decided that I will be a candidate for President of the United States of America. Now, some of you might say "he just got to Washington, why is he running for President?" It didn't take me long to learn that Washington is broken. It's broken because our leadership in Washington is more intent on achieving political victories than securing much needed progress for the American people. Even then, I still have eight years of service as your Governor here in our great state of Nebraska, and the results of bold leadership in both our state's capital and in a company board room to lead our economy to a brighter future. This economy might be the best our leaders in Washington can do - but it is not the best America can do - and America deserves better. Now, another question some folks might be askin, is "who in the heck is this guy?" It might not be a question for those of you here with us today, but probably to some of those watching online or on the news. So, allow me to introduce myself to the country. My name is David Rollins, and I am a United States Senator from the great state of Nebraska, and prior, a two-term Governor here that you might have heard of. But more importantly - I am married to the most wonderful women in this country, Jenny Rollins is with me here today; I love you. We are the parents of three extraordinary children. Our oldest son, Jack, works in the family business, and is in charge of it now that his father made the [somewhat sarcastically] stupid decision to enter politics [little laugh]. Our daughter, Amanda, takes after her mother in being one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet - and you have to be to be a middle school teacher these days [laughs]. Our youngest, Randall, is a United States Marine who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, currently on another tour of deployment in the Middle East. We are proud military parents. We are proud of our family, of our faith, and of our commitment to a cause greater than ourselves - something I firmly believe many Americans and I have in common. Our family and small-town values come from, well, the fact both Jenny and I were raised in a small town. I was born and raised in Montana. We still have family and friends there, and boy, don't get me started on how beautiful and peaceful it is. It sure beats the ego-filled halls of Washington D.C., let me tell ya. Jenny and I, we grew up neighbors and friends. Anyone from a small town can tell you, having a neighbor isn't the same as in a big city, you'd need a four-wheeler and good weather to get down your long dirt-driveway, cross or go down the road, and venture a mile or two until you reach them. But we made it work, and I am the luckiest man alive for it. Growing up I worked on the family farm. My brother and I were blessed to be born into the warm and loving home of a two-parent household. We had both livestock and crop, and no matter the weather, my younger brother and I were out there with dad before school every morning making sure those chores got done. One morning, however, in the summer after I graduated high school, the chores did not get done - an accident in the early hours of a summer morning took my father's life. That was hard on all of us. But, as so many of you, and my fellow Americans know, when adversity hits, you have two choices. Either you mope, sit around and wait for the world to pick you up, or; you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, stand tall, and tackle the challenges you face head on. The latter is, with the help of our community, what we did. I delayed my college education a year to ensure the family and the land was taken care of. I stayed close to home so I could both attend classes while take care of the family. I finally did leave home, went out to California and got an MBA from Stanford. One could argue who followed who, Jenny continued to her medical studies there. She is probably right that I'm the one that followed - I'd follow her anywhere. After returning home for a while, I again followed her, this time to the wide-open spaces of Nebraska. While Jenny worked at the local hospital, I did what I knew best, ranch work, on the property we bought. We started a family, and after a while I got restless. I wanted to set a good example, and set up a good future for our children. That's when we started a business. Harvest Holdings began as a simple idea - to become a one-stop shop for every farmer and rancher alike - for all the essentials. From equipment to feed, livestock to business advise, and even investment opportunities. Over the span of twenty years, we grew the business into what it is today, nearly $1 billion in revenue every year, doing business in every state but Hawaii and branching out internationally as well. You could say we've done well for ourselves - but if it wasn't for our faith, grit and a work ethic true to the American spirit, it wouldn't have been possible. The values learned growing up in small town America are timeless, the values that so many of you know too. The dignity of work, the integrity of your word, responsibility to community, the unbreakable bonds of family, and duty to country. These are enduring values, not the product of some elitest. But a touchstone of American life - in our small towns, our largest cities, and booming suburbs. I know that America has experienced great change, but what it means to be an American has never changed. Its with these values - and the purpose of restoring the promise of the American dream - that will guide our efforts to fight for America, to lead for America, and to govern for America. We will fight for an economy that actually grows and lifts up every American family. The rich keep getting richer, and the poor keep getting poorer. It is time we prioritize the financial health and well-being of what is the greatest institution in our country - it ain't the government, or the wealthy politicians who try to rule over us - but the strongest and most important institution in our country is that of a family, and we will restore the financial vitality and success of every American family, with restored vitality and success of the American economy. We will fight to lower the taxes of everyday, hardworking American families. We will fight to balance our budget and end waste and corruption in Washington D.C. We will fight to create good paying jobs, in part by unleashing the dominance that can, and must be American-made energy, that will also lower all our gas prices. We will fight to get government on your side instead of in your way, and promote trade policies that will prioritize American workers and industry first. And - and we will fight to repeal every word of the recklessly disastrous Obama administration's efforts to do the exact opposite. We will fight to keep our country safe. This administration has for too long, made America weak on the world stage. From negligently allowing ISIS to form into more than what he calls 'the JV squad' to surrendering American leadership around the world to countries like Russia and China - we are far less safe today than when this administration came to be in January 2009. While this President has destroyed our military, our allies no longer trust us, and our adversaries no longer respect us. That is why we will rebuild and modernize our military; Create a new and better strategy to fight the war on terror and keep us safe from threats overseas before they become threats here at home; Keep our cities safe with actually backing law enforcement; And finally, once and for all, after 25 years of hearing Washington talk about it, secure our southern border. We will do all of this with as much force, strength and resolve it takes - because the number one obligation of the President of the United States is to keep our people safe - and a President David Rollins will stop at nothing to ensure we are safe and secure, both here at home and abroad, whatever it takes. And, we will restore the American dream. Today you have millions of Americans who feel left out and out of place in their own country. Too many Americans feel the next generation will be worse off than the opportunities and successes of our generation, and that of our parents. I understand and live this every day. I fear for my children and my grandchildren's futures. That is why I am going to fight to restore the American dream, because every kid in America deserves to have a country they are proud to live in, and every parent should be able to leave this country better off than the country in which we received. We will restore the American dream by restoring the bedrock of American values that made our nation great. While many in American politics seem interested in abandoning the family values and principled common-sense beliefs that helped to make the American people the greatest anywhere in the world - we will fight for the freedoms of every American and to preserve the two-parent household, and the values taught within, that helped to build the greatest generation the world has ever seen. We can move our country forward into the greatest American century without leaving behind the values and character of this nation's founding, and a President David Rollins will do just that. Furthermore, we will fight to ensure entitlement programs are solvent for our children and their children by putting politics aside, and getting real reforms done that are long overdue and much needed in this country. We will fight to get our kids reading and writing again, getting education and the power of education back where it belongs - into the hands of parents. We will fight to provide high-quality, low-cost healthcare to every American by finally repealing and replacing Obamacare. We will fight for our veterans, for the second amendment, and in keeping government held accountable for ensuring it does what it was originally created to do, nothing more. We can do this - but it is going to take a fighter with the strength, resolve and commitment to the cause of fighting for America, and the American dream, to get it done. Our nation is full of aspirations and hungry for our new solutions after the failed seven plus of the Obama administration. My optimism in America is not diminished by the political games many in Washington pride themselves on playing. My optimism in America is grounded in my unshakable belief that the American people are the most honest working, God loving people with a clear moral vision to act with dignity and respect in shaping a country that will be the home of their children and grandchildren. We are principled, with values of dignity and of good moral character. We are a nation of common sense and courage - something not many in Washington exemplify. We are a patriotic people. The heart of America is good. Our land is blessed by the hand of God. May we as a people always be worthy of his grace and his protection. From my time in business, to serving two terms as Governor of Nebraska, to now in the United States Senate. I have always believed in principles above politics. In putting ideas before rhetoric, and policy over ego. During my eight years as Governor, we exemplified that. We provided tax relief. In my first term, we worked with state legislators to enact $85 million in property tax cuts. In my second term, we signed the largest tax relief bill in the state's history - providing $425 million in middle-class tax relief over a two-year period. We grew our state economy by championing "Made In America" energy solutions, advocating development in the construction of ethanol production plants in rural areas and recruiting job creation and investment in urban and rural areas. We made our state safer by bringing about tougher penalties for meth dealers, criminalizing child enticement, and we added to the state troopers in both funding and manpower. We invested in the future, with investments in early childhood programs, promotion of foster care and adoption, and increasing the quality of childcare. And we made Nebraska government more transparent and accountable to its people like never before. We focused on tax relief, smaller government, building a strong, statewide economy, protecting families, and ensuring health safety, and success of Nebraska's children. These are principles that have worked before, and will work again when applied in Washington D.C. The results spoke for themselves. While Nebraska had cash reserves of over $59 million, we inherited in 2003 a budget deficit. After eight years, we went from deficit to surplus, and added nearly $400 million to our cash reserves, all while not increasing taxes, but cutting them, and growing our state's economy every year. In fact - because of our leadership, Nebraska's economy even grew based on GDP during the great recession. Our economy was strong, our people were safe, our children were well-educated, and healthcare was affordable for all. Not by government being the solution - but by government getting out of the way, and empowering free people, in free markets, to make the best choices for themselves and their families. It is a track record of success for our state, for our country - and the track record of the principles we all support. These are the kinds of, not only policies, but principles, we as Americans must govern with upon the mandate that will be handed to us by the American people in November. Whether we remain a special country will depend on whether the American dream is still possible for those who are still trying to make it right now. The single mother who works long hours for little pay, so her children don't have to struggle the way she has to. The young student who takes two busses before dawn, to attend a better school halfway across town. The workers in our restaurants, the landscaping crews in our neighborhoods, the late-night janitorial staff who clean our offices and schools, and even the bartenders who somewhere today are standing in the back of a room somewhere in America. If their American dreams become impossible, we will have just become another country. But if they succeed, these next years to come will also be the greatest this nation has yet to live. This will be the message of my campaign, and the purpose of my Presidency. To succeed on this journey, I will need your prayers, and your support, and ultimately your vote. And so tonight I am asking you to take that first step at joining us on this journey by joining us at our campaign website, helping volunteer and spread the word of our cause, or even making a contribution to our campaign. With my family here this afternoon, they know that our journey ahead will take us far from home to all corners of this great country we all love. I'll miss the quiet mornings on the ranch - coming out to the porch with Jenny sitting in her usual spot, with a cup of coffee and a good book, in the morning chill of a spring Nebraska morning, waiting for the sun to rise. I'll miss the plays, the sporting events, the birthday parties, and little moments in the daily lives of my children and grandchildren. But they, as I do, understand that we have chosen this course because this election is about them. Theirs is the most important generation in American history, and I'll tell you why. Because if we can capture the promise of these years to come, they will be the freeist and the most prosperous Americans to live. But if we fail, they will be the first generation of Americans to inherit a country worse off then the one left for their parents. The final verdict on our generation will be written by Americans who have not yet been born. Let us make sure they record that we made the right choice. That in the early years of this century, faced with a rapidly changing and uncertain world, our generation rose to face the great challenges of our time. And because we did, there was still once place in the world, where who you come from doesn't determine how far you go. Because we did the American miracle lived on. Because we did our children and theirs, lived in the best era of America's history. This will be possible because we, together, chose to lead for America, and chose to fight for America. Thank you! May God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America!
  6. Senator Rollins Announces Senate Office Staff for 2016 - For Immediate Release | Washington, D.C. Continuing with his first term as a U.S. Senator, the honorable David Rollins (R-Nebraska) announced his staff earlier this morning. "I am thankful to have such an excellent staff to help me in representing the state of Nebraska with the utmost integrity, respect and of the highest standards in Washington. Our team is comprised of good quality people who are not only excellent within their respective fields, but help run our office and advise myself on varying aspects that may go beyond their job titles," said Sen. Rollins. "Our staff and I look forward to being on the front lines of pushing for policy and ideas that benefit not only our constituents in the great state of Nebraska, but for Americans all across this country." Joe Wall, Chief of Staff -- Wall, at just 34, will continue serving as Senator Rollins' Chief of Staff. His career began as a staffer for House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO) for two years, working his way up the chain in 2005 and '06, until he joined the Mitt Romney presidential campaign in January of 2007, serving as the campaign's Assistant National Field Director. Immediately following Romney's withdrawal from the race in early 2008, Wall was hired as Deputy Assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney, serving in that position from March '08 until the Bush administration left office that following January. It was with the Bush administration wrapping up that he latched onto then-Governor Rollins of Nebraska, and was named Deputy Chief of Staff in 2008, ascending to the top spot in his office the following year, until his term finished in 2011. Following, Wall joined Goldman Sachs and became Vice President of Government Affairs. He served as a Senior Advisor to Rollins' US Senate campaign beginning in the early spring of 2014, and full-time left to re-join Rollins after his victory that November, heading his transition team and assuming the role of Chief of Staff once again. Wall is a Nebraska native, and graduated from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska with a degree in Political Science in 2004. At such a young age serving as Rollins' right-hand man, he is considered a rising star among fellow hill-staffers. Rollins on Wall: "Joe thinks and acts beyond his age, and has already established himself as one of the most effective and qualified men in Washington. His mastery of how Washington operates, as well as his expertise on policy, puts both our office and the people of Nebraska in good hands, ensuring that our principles and message will be thoughtfully and carefully enacted in Washington D.C. As a native of Nebraska, the people of our great State can rest assured our office is hard at work in representing and fighting for our state's interests." Mark Warren, Deputy Chief of Staff - Warren, a longtime staffer on Capitol Hill, joined junior Senator Rollins' staff as second-in-command in his office after being elected. Warren joins Rollins' office from serving as Chief Counsel to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI). Prior, he worked as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Department of Treasury, Office of Legislative Affairs in the George W. Bush administration. In addition to his public service, he spent two years as Vice President for Tax and Finance at the Retail Industry Leaders Association and practiced law in New York and Washington D.C. His career in Washington started in 1995 as tax counsel to the House Small Business Committee and later to the Senate Committe on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and he has served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. Rollins on Warren: "Mark brings a wealth of experience on Capitol Hill to our office that will be instrumental in moving along legislation through both houses of Congress. His expertise and knowledge with the leadership process of both chambers and the executive branch in enacting that legislation will allow us to craft policy and make decisions that are rooted in the ability to not only make lives better in Nebraska and throughout America, but to be signed into law, and enacted in the way our policy is intended. I am excited to welcome Mark to our office." Tim Barnes, Senior Advisor -- Barnes, a Nebraska native, and Senator Rollins go all the way back to the beginning of his first term as Governor of Nebraska. Barnes was the founder and head of the Republican State Leadership Committee beginning in 2002, an extension of the Republican National Committee dedicated to electing down-ballot candidates in individual states across America. Barnes tenure in charge with the creation of his RSLC coincided with Rollins' first election to Governor in 2002, and the two worked closely over Rollins' eight-years as Nebraska's top executive to elect down-ballot republicans throughout the state. Barnes became such a trusted confidant that he was one of the re-election campaign's top advisors in 2006. When Rollins left office in January 2009, Barnes moved back to Nebraska full-time, and opened up Blue Wave Strategy, advising candidates all across America. After advising once again for Rollins' campaign in 2014 for the US Senate, he has remained on the payroll as a Senior Advisor. Barnes' previous experience also includes serving as Deputy Finance Director for the RNC's Senatorial Committee from 1993-1998, and as an executive at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1999 and 2000. Rollins on Barnes: "Tim has become a good friend over the last 14 years, and I couldn't imagine having anybody else in my inner circle to help me represent the people of the great state of Nebraska with honor and dignity. Tim understands Nebraska because he was born and raised near Omaha and has been working to advance the causes our great people believe in for decades. I am excited to continue working with him as we now come to Washington on behalf of Nebraskans." Shahira Knight, Legislative Director & Senior Advisor --Knight, 46, joined Rollins' staff in charge of the legislative process. Knight's career on Capital Hill includes stints in charge of the House Ways and Means Committee and Senate Joint Economic Committee under republican leadership. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and her master's in economics from George Mason. Rollins on Knight: "Shahira is smart as a whip, and one of the brightest policy and legislative minds in Washington. Her experience leading the charge on notable legislative agendas, such as the Bush tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 will serve the people of Nebraska well as we do our best to advance an agenda into law. I am excited for the contribution she will make for both Nebraska and our country as we seek to put policy above politics, and serve our constituents with dignity and respect." Lanhee Chen, Policy Director & Senior Advisor -- Chen, 38, joined Rollins' team for the first time to serve as Policy Director, spearheading the brain trust that will advise Rollins on policy during his tenure. Chen has been an advisor on conservative policy for years, advising both of Governor Mitt Romney's presidential campaigns on policy in 2008 and '12, as well as the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee. Chen, a graduate of Harvard with four degrees, is a native of North Carolina. Rollins on Chen: "Lanhee is one of the brightest minds in our country when it comes to policy, and specifically, conservative principles aligned with our agenda as we seek to represent Nebraska and America with policy over politics. In such a short time he has already made an immeasurable difference for both our office and the people of Nebraska. I am extremely excited to have him join our office and lead our policy efforts across the board." Susan Hepworth, Communications Director & Senior Advisor -- Hepworth joined Rollins' office to head-up communications strategy and serve as a political advisor after working for Mitt Romney's primary campaign in 2012, working as the Director of National Traveling Press. A Kansas native, she was the Director of Political Operations at the RNC for the 2010 election cycle following a stint in the political operations team of Romney's '08 campaign. She has experience in the private sector, working for Majority Strategies Inc. from 2008-09. Hepworth earned degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Kansas in 2007. Rollins on Hepworth: "I am excited to work with Susan for the first time as a U.S. Senator. She is going to be one of the brightest women on Capitol Hill from the start, with her experience in both the private sector and on many high-profile campaigns to use, she will allow our office to showcase its efforts via a comprehensive and effective communications strategy. Furthermore, I am excited to bring her into my inner circle, helping craft communication strategy for everything from electoral efforts to legislative policies, pushing our principles for Nebraska to the forefront. Nebraska will come to embrace her as much as I have." Ann Marie Hauser, Press Secretary & Sen. Rollins Spokesperson -- Hauser has worked for Senator Rollins since 2008, and moves into his Senate office, working in tandem with Susan Hepworth to construct and carry out all communications strategies. She worked in Rollins communications office the last two years of his Gubernatorial tenure, and served as Press Secretary for his successful Senate campaign. Her previous experience includes working in New York as Vice President of Corporate Communications at JPMorgan Chase, while her governmental experience outside Rollins' office includes Director of Public Affairs at the Department of Commerce and spokesperson for International Affairs at the Treasury Department in the George W. Bush administration. She earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in speech communications and journalism. Rollins on Hauser: "Ann has been one of my most trusted advisors concerning all communications efforts the last seven years, and I am excited to have her in our Senate office. She is a breath of fresh air compared to the hallow political rhetoric and political games many other members of the Senate play. Our office will be focused on policy and principles over politics, genuinely putting the people of Nebraska and the United States above the petty nature most members and their staffs operate with as we continue the 114th Session of Congress. Our country and our state deserve better - and Ann, without a doubt, provides better." Gabi Everett, Administrative Director & Executive Assistant -- Everett joins Senator Rollins' office after working for the RNC since 2005. Most recently, Everett served as Director of Events during the 2012 election cycle, where she and Rollins met. Her previous roles included Deputy to the Chairman, Deputy Director of Media Relations, and Public Liaison for former President George W. Bush's inaugural committee in 2005. She earned her bachelor's degree from Arizona State. Rollins on Everett: "Very quickly, I became impressed with Gabi while collaborating on our Senate campaign. She is a bright woman, who's vast skillset will be an invaluable asset in our office. Through her relationship building efforts over the years at the RNC, she will be instrumental in helping coordinate with staffers of various committees and member offices in advancing our agenda forward as we continue the 114th Session of Congress." Jessica Kolterman, State Director -- Kolterman will serve as Senator Collins' State Director, the top liaison between the Senate office and constituents back home in Nebraska. Kolterman assumes the role after working as Executive Director of the Nebraska Farm Bureau since 2007. Previously, she served as a staffer in the Nebraska legislature from 2002 to 2006. Rollins on Kolterman: "I've gotten to know Jessica well over the last several years working for Nebraskans in the state capitol, and I can commit that she is a genuine fighter for our constituents. A native Nebraskan and longtime conservative leader in the state, I couldn't imagine anybody else as the liaison between our great people and our office. Our constituents are in such great hands with anything they might need back home, and I couldn't be more excited to have her onboard." Megan Sowards, General Counsel -- Sowards, 43, serves as Senator Rollins' general and legal counsel. In addition to being the office's legal counsel, her duties include helping prepare speeches and remarks for Rollins' public events. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2008. Prior to joining Senator Rollins' office, she was a speechwriter at the State Department from 2003 to 2005, Press secretary for Maine Senator Susan Collins from 2001 to 2003, and speech writer to both John and Lincoln Chaffee from 1999 to 2001. She earned her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in 1998. Allen on Megan: "Megan is fantastic, and she's a prime example of what hard work and perseverance can get you. After starting out in our office as an executive assistant while pursuing her J.D., she now uses her education in an expanded role as serving the office as general counsel. She has a wide range of experience and knowledge that makes her an important member of our staff." - Ann Marie Hauser, Press Secretary

Jim was a longtime hardworking family rancher, while his mother Theresa worked in the healthcare industry. His younger brother, Noah, was born two years after he was. The family lived in Townsend, Montana. Beginning in grade school, David began working with his father on the ranch in the mornings before school, and that continued through high school graduation. During high school, David played baseball and basketball. An average academic student, David graduated from Broadwater High School in Townsend, Montana in 1972 and planned on attending Montana State that fall. However, in the early hours of a warm summer morning at the family ranch in 1972, David's dad, Jim, was killed in an equipment mishap. David put his plans of attending college in the fall on hold to work and run the family's property for the next year. In the late summer of '73, David enrolled at Montana State for the upcoming fall semester. After many long days and sleepless nights, while both studying and continuing to work his family's land, David finally graduated from MSU in the spring of 1977, with two degrees. Shortly after graduation, David married his childhood sweetheart, Jenny Gardner, in July of 1977. The two had been neighbors since childhood, grew up friends and began dating in high school. Their love continued to grow while they both attended college together. David was intent on furthering his education, and to his own surprise, was accepted into the Stanford School of Business on scholarship. Entrusting the family property to several ranch hands and his childhood best friend, David and Jenny packed their personal belongings into the back of an old Ford pickup and drove to California. While David earned his MBA, Jenny spent two years at Stanford's school of Medicine, finishing up her own degree. Without any concrete plans for the future, David and Jenny finished their schooling in the spring of 1979, and following the two years in California, they moved back to Montana. One year later, Jenny was offered a good-paying job in rural Nebraska to head-up the pediatric department of a local hospital. After several weeks of agonizing discussions amongst family and friends, Jenny decided to accept the job. David ultimately supported her decision, and the two would once again move, this time to Valentine, Nebraska in 1980. They used their savings to put the down payment on a beautiful ranch home just southwest of the city limits. While Jenny worked at the local hospital, David did what he knew best - ranch work - and spent two years working the property he and Jenny had bought, until the fall of 1982. Now a father of three, with a few stable hands working on his property with him, David decided he wanted to set a good example, and future, for his children. He settled on using his experience and education to start a business, naming it Harvest Holdings, Inc. Harvest Holdings began as a simple idea - to become a one-stop shop for every farmer and rancher alike - for all the essentials. From equipment to feed, livestock to business advise, and even investment opportunities. Again - with many long days and sleepless nights - over the next 20 years David grew the business into one that now reports nearly $789 million in revenue per fiscal year. Harvest Holdings includes its three subsidiaries (GoldenHay, its manufacturing, products, produce and livestock branch; Farmvisor, its advising services to both families and businesses on agricultural topics and finance; and Agrivestment, its financial investment branch) and does business in 49 U.S. states (excl. Hawaii) and exports its equipment and services to foreign countries such as Canada, and European nations like France and Italy. In the years leading up to the 2002 election cycle, the Rollins family became more visible within state and national conservative policy and donor circles - even going so far as to form a think tank called Rural Values that also has a Political Action Committee - both formed in late 1998. When it was announced Mike Johanns would not seek re-election in 2002 (privately courting the Secretary of Agriculture position in the Bush Administration), David's name was immediately thrown around as a potential candidate. While not taking it seriously at first, David nonetheless did his due diligence and met with state and local leaders to see if it was worth doing. After several months touring the state, David Rollins announced his candidacy for Governor of Nebraska in late 2001. It took a late push from his wife, Jenny, to get him in the race, appealing to his sentimental side, advocating he help make the state and nation a better place for their children and grandchildren. David was up to the challenge, and the state GOP coalesced around his campaign from the start. He cruised through the republican primary, and was elected Governor of Nebraska with just shy of 60% in November, 2002. He ran for re-election in 2006 and won with nearly 70%. He was known as a good fundraiser and his campaigns were known for being good with retail politics. Furthermore, David was seen as down-to-earth due to his upbringing, despite his wealth. Throughout his two terms as Governor, Rollins focused on revitalizing Nebraska's economy for the 21st century. While in office, he was always one to focus on policy over politics, not afraid to buck his own party when there were policy disagreements. Following two successful terms as Nebraska Governor, David Rollins returned to private life. He resumed working on his land and helping the company he built, now under the leadership of his son. However, in late 2013, when incumbent republican Senator and former Governor Mike Johanns decided not to run for re-election, he called his friend David to encourage him to run. David was a popular two-term Governor, still well-known to the Nebraska and national electorate after leaving office in January 2011. In January 2014, David Rollins put the rumors to rest, and formally announced his candidacy for the United States Senate, vowing to change Washington to more represent the values of everyday Americans. The primary was hotly contested from the start - David was up against a trio of well-funded and well-run campaigns in bank President Sid Dinsdale, former state Treasurer Shane Osborn and Midland University President Ben Sasse. Two strong debate performances and a well ran campaign of his own gave David the slight edge heading into election day that May. Despite the conglomerate of candidates polling neck-and-neck at the top of the race, David indeed won the primary, with a higher than expected 39.8% of the vote - compared to 28.4% for Osborne, 20% for Dinsdale, 10.7% for Sasse, and 1.1% for the lower-level candidates. The GOP again coalesced around David for the general election, even after the hard-fought primary. David used a solid overall campaign, three strong debate performances, and favorable national GOP conditions to fuel his campaign to victory, capturing 68.7% of the vote. David Collins began his first term as a United States Senator from the state of Nebraska in January 2015. David is known as a "pragmatic, common sense conservative," primarily focused on economic and agriculture policy while always rooted with rural Americans and working-class voters. He isn't afraid to buck his party's trend when it differs from his principles, while once again putting policy before politics.
