The Gaggle
in Media
Congressman Tyler Swanson:
"President Grayson came out and laid forth his image for the country. An image that puts the working and middle class of this country at the top of his priority list. Seeing the comments by members of the Republican Party is disheartening. The American people have spoken, and they choose Tyler Grayson to be our President. The least they can do for their constituents sake is give him a chance to lead" -
Swanson Introduces National Infrastructure Bank Act
Congressman Tyler Swanson (D-FL-11) has introduced the National Infrastructure Bank Act, to invest billions into the nation's aging infrastructure and put Americans back to work. The bill would give local and state governments the ability to apply for funding to embark on projects to build and repair roads and bridges across the United States.
"This bill fulfills a key campaign promise Democrats made this election: to put Americans back to work by investing in this county's infrastructure. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House and Senate to pass this bill"
Congressman Swanson is committed to supporting the people of his district and Americans across the country.

"It seems the Republicans have suffered from amnesia after these elections, because they speak of failed leadership when they have controlled both Houses of Congress since 1994. That is 6 years of Republican leadership that has given us nothing but gridlock and broken promises. The American people showed they want a change in direction this last election, and I am committed to working with my colleagues in the House on passing real, substantive policy."

I officially tender my letter of resignation from the Administrative Board of VGS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anything below this line is my own thoughts, and are not endorsed by any individual member of the AB or the AB at large.
I'd first like to give my thanks to Vandy, Brink, Lloth, Ironsides, Bella, and more recently Luke for the level of support they gave me as Elections Administrator. Barring my 3 day tenure as the Chief Admin of Zetaboards VP, I had never actually been on the AB of Virtual America/VGS, and I was grateful to be given the opportunity by Ben, and then later Vandy. They had given me the opportunity to run and reform the elections system to the degree and manner I wanted, and for that I am also grateful.
Overall, I am also grateful to the playerbase for an enjoyable experience. There have been heated moments and times where some players and myself have been angry, but overall I am grateful to have a playerbase that has been as understanding as you all have been. I've made mistakes, I have no issue admitting that, and if I ever do return to the AB I will have some lessons to bring with me. I'd like to congratulate our players who participated in the elections this cycle for a hard-fought campaign, and while you might not agree with my decisions I hope you can at least see that I tried my best to make all my decisions fairly.
I would like to add-on to the statement made by Lloth about the recent perceptions of toxicity in the environment. I am not here to point the finger at individual players, or even accuse the playerbase as a whole of being toxic, because I genuinely don't think that. Some might call me too optimistic, but I try to think of the people behind the screen. The college student, the working man/woman, whatever it is you do in your real lives. I truly think we're all good people, and each of us has our own individual pros and cons. But we need to remember that when talking to each other, and especially when we are frustrated at the decisions we make: we're people. Imperfect people who are doing this because we care about this community and want it to continue.
The fact of the matter is this community can not continue to survive if we keep driving people away from the AB, and that predominately happens because we have people who approach the AB as a punching bag. That they can say anything and think it's fine because it's our job. But that's not the case. People on the AB can leave whenever they like, and we have to remember that. They do this voluntarily, and while we accept the possibility of complaints by taking the job, we do not accept the right to be spoken too in a disrespectful manner. I know some people assume the complaints are what we take issue with, but in reality it is often the manner in which these complaints are aired. I only ask in the future people consider the language in which they use.
Thank you very much for making my time on the AB enjoyable, and I hope in the near future to return to the game in some capacity. But we all need a break sometimes, and my time for a break has come.

I've had a few people come to me with extensions, and to avoid the hoopla of yesterday I'm announcing this:
Everyone gets an extension until 5:00pmET tommorow, 12/19. This is the absolute latest you may turn it in. We need time to grade and get everything together before election day, so there will be no extensions beyond this
