  1. WASHINGTON D.C. - Congressman Moshe issued the following statement concerning the Dismemberment Abortion Ban Act of 2001.

"I am pleased to have jointly sponsored this vital legislation with my colleagues Congressman Rihaku, Goldberg and Jarreau. Getting the Partial Birth Abortion Ban into law was an excellent first step but there is a long way to go in the fight to protect our unborn generations from being scarified on the altar of choice. This new legislation which myself and my colleagues have worked hard on together will prevent the barbaric practice of chopping up babies into pieces. What I want to ask all my colleagues in Congress is this: will you really defend this evil practice? Or will you join me in the fight for life, the first and most fundamental of all our freedoms?"

  2. Name: Isaiah T. Moshe

    Party: Republican

    Interviewing Agency: The Bismarck Tribune

"Since I have been sitting in the House of Representatives representing the people of North Dakota, I have come to realize just how fat and bloated the Federal Government has become in the 200 years since our founding fathers set out a limited number of responsibilities for it and wisely left the remainder to the states. I think its time we put Washington on a diet. I started small a few weeks ago with a bill designed to cut back on unneeded printing in Congress itself. I am pleased today to have introduced new legislation which will completely overhaul the Department of Transportation to reduce the number of offices and agencies and to streamline its functions. With a more efficient department, the government will be better able to serve the people and save money at the same time. I look forward to introducing more common sense legislation to drive down the cost of government."

  3. WASHINGTON D.C. - Congressman Moshe today addressed the House Standing Committee on Government on the subject of the Congressional Printing Efficiency Bill which he recently sponsored. He remarked as follows-

"I sponsored this Bill to solve a problem within our own midst. Every day, thousands of copies of the Congressional Record are printed and delivered to each one or us by the armful. Most of these, speaking for myself at least, end up in the recycling. In this computer age when we can find the information we want online, we don't need to spend $8 million a year of taxpayer's money, not to mention cause significant harm to the environment, to print off all this superfluous paperwork. This simple, straightforward bill which has already attracted wide bipartisan support, will limit printing of the Record to a small number of copies for archival purposes, helping to get our own House in order as an example to the rest of the government of best practice - saving both money and our precious natural environment. As the sponsor of the Bill, I am also happy to respond to any queries members may have."

  4. Congressman Isaiah Moshe: "Education is not primarily a federal responsibility under our Constitution but a responsibility of the states. To continue the car analogy, this Bill is like if you run a garage and then decide to open a barber's shop. People would walk past and say "You had a successful garage, you were good at fixing cars, but now you divide your time by opening this barber's shop. Surely you can not do both jobs as well as you could have done just one? Why then do you not just stick to what you are good at and let others do what they are good at." And so we in Congress should focus on what is our job, and allow the states to focus on what is there's.

  5. WASHINGTON D.C. - Congressman Isaiah Moshe introduced new legislation today designed to improve the efficiency of Congressional printing. The Congressman remarked "Currently the Government Printing Office is required by law to print out thousands of copies of the Congressional record for every day Congress is in session in order to furnish members with multiple copies - 37 copies per day for a Congressman and 50 for a Senator. This is a complete waste of money - $8 million a year, especially as these records are now available online. It is also very bad for our environment, producing documents that will mostly end up in the bin! My short, simple legislation that I sincerely hope will achieve wide support from both sides of the aisle will limit printing of the Congressional Record to a limited number of copies for archival purposes. I am very pleased that my legislation has already been co-sponsored by our Minority Leader Congressman Baudin and I look forward to seeing the bill progressing through the House."

  6. Congressman Moshe:

"I have always believed the Right to Bear Arms is fundamental and vital to our individual liberty and safety. This Bill is an important safeguard of our constitutional rights and I am very gratified to see it progressing."
